Update for Inkersall Road Solar Farm

Thank you again for taking the time to comment and feedback on our proposal for Inkersall Road Solar Farm.

It hasn’t been easy to know if how we have consulted in the right way. We would have much preferred to meet and greet you all in the Speedwell Rooms and run the digital engagement alongside this, however, due to the restrictions in place in regard to COVID-19, we were unable to do this.

As mentioned in my previous update, we have worked through all the comments received either through the post, email, telephone or online and have compiled the Consultation Report. You can now find this in the Key Project Documents section of the Commonplace website if you would like to see how these comments have been considered.

It is of great interest to us that there are a mixture of opinions on the proposal overall. Where we have seen concerns arising, we have made a number of changes to try to improve the project, for instance, through development exclusion zones, or have attempted to provide a better explanation of what we are seeking to achieve, for instance, with regards to biodiversity improvements to the site as it currently exists. This is detailed further in the Consultation Report.

We have chosen to now submit a planning application, incorporating these changes and the Consultation Report will be included in that application. This application should be available to view on the Chesterfield Borough Council website in the near future where you can keep up to date and comment on it. We shall also continue to share periodic updates on this website as and when there is something significant to update. If you have registered for updates then you shall continue to receive them too.

If you have further questions, please do email us at consultation@dwdllp.com and one of the project team will come back to you.

You’ve commented, what next?

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to comment on the Inkersall Road Solar Farm proposal.

Some of you may be wondering, what happens to these comments and how does Low Carbon use them.

Our next stage is to create a Consultation Report, which we hope to make available on this website the week commencing 22nd June 2020. We will collate and summarise all of the information submitted from the past 3 weeks both on the engagement platform and the forms we have received through the post.

Together with our Planning Consultants, we will review all of the information provided. This information will help us to make a final decision about the project and, if we look to proceed, help us to tailor our final design and make any other sensible changes before we submit it into planning.

We will also provide answers to the questions raised through this process based on the topic area covered. The report, once complete, will be attached to any planning application, but we will also post it onto the platform for you to read.

It has been strange not to be able to hold a public consultation in the village hall, like we would have done pre-COVID-19, and engage with many of you face to face, however, we hope that you have found the online platform useful to understand our proposal.

If you haven’t already, please do comment by Wednesday, 17th June or if you have any questions regarding the proposal, please call our freephone number 0800 020 9842 (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) or email us at consultation@dwdllp.com , quoting Inkersall Road Solar Farm.
